All people engaged in library and information work, or in related fields, may join TLA. Membership connects you to a national professional community, to training and conferences, and to an Association that represents your interests to Government and employers.
How to join
- Choose your membership type. Compare the four types and their requirements.
- Apply online using the membership application form, or download the paper form.
- Pay the membership fee. The secretariat confirms the amount and payment details when it acknowledges your application.
- Receive confirmation of your membership from the TLA secretariat.
Types of members
Chartered MemberFor trained library professionals qualified to practise as librarians.
Ordinary MemberFor library assistants, other library personnel and anyone interested in library work.
Non-Tanzanian MemberFor applicants who are not citizens of Tanzania.
Institutional MemberFor libraries and organisations that support library and information services.
